Technology Partners implements LHS BSCSixR2 upgrade at MTN Syria

MTN Syria improves its customer service and billing operations with BSCS iX Release 2

Migration of LHS billing and customer care system from BSCS Version 7 to BSCS iX Release 2 increases marketing flexibility and optimizes performance.

Frankfurt/Main – November 24, 2008 – LHS, a leading provider of telecom billing and customer care systems across the wireless, wireline, and IP telecom markets worldwide, today announced that MTN Syria has upgraded its postpaid billing platform from BSCS Version 7 to BSCS iX Release 2. The new web-based billing and customer care system allows MTN Syria to react more flexibly to its customers needs and to provide them with a range of new services. The company now operates with faster customer response times, as end customer information is available on a single screen. BSCS iX Release 2 also enables MTN Syria to offer more diverse marketing propositions including discounts, promotions, and bonuses with flexible invoicing and well-designed processes.

MTN Syria, which has passed the 3.3 million subscribers mark recently with a large percentage of postpaid customers, is part of the MTN Group, a leading provider of communication services, offering cellular network access and business solutions in 21 countries across Africa and the Middle East. MTN Syria launched its new billing and customer platform 3 months ago. The migration from BSCS Version 7 to BSCS iX Release 2 took 8 months with Technology Partners, one of LHS partner based in Dubai, as the main system integrator.

“We have opted to upgrade to Release 2 of the excellent BSCS iX billing and customer care system because it will allow us to react even faster to the needs of our expanding customer base, and because it gives us great flexibility by anticipating the demands of our rapidly evolving market and quickly responding to it,” said Wassim Saad, IT Services Director of MTN Syria. “We chose Technology Partners to implement the LHS solution because of their professional approach to the BSCS upgrade. Their team is very familiar with the BSCS system and its functionality. The staff also quickly understood our system and our way of operation and came up with new ideas on how to integrate our processes with BSCS iX while implementing the upgrade. We all cooperated excellently and understood the needs of each other,” he added.

“In addition to the immediate benefits, this upgrade has given MTN a roadmap for future convergence,” said Wolfgang Kroh, CEO of LHS. “We were also very pleased with the way the upgrade was handled by Technology Partners. Their team executed the whole migration with great efficiency and accuracy,” he concluded.
